Educational / informational meetings
It is beneficial for teachers accompanying school groups to be familiar with the Museum and its exhibitions.
The Educational Programmes Office stages educational / informational seminars to familiarize educators with the Museum and its potential as an educational resource. The seminars, which are held on-site in the Museum, present participants with the permanent exhibition and the thematic organization of its exhibits as well as suggesting alternative ways in which an educational visit could be organized, and providing informational and educational material for use at the teacher’s discretion. The material includes the introductory texts to the various sections in the permanent exhibition as well as printed educational material.
Anyone wishing to attend an informational meeting can book a place by phone on [+30] 213 213 9507 (Monday to Friday, 11:00 to 14:00).
With a view to providing teachers with information and training, the Museum also participates in educational activities run by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Education, Long Life Learning and Religious Affairs, the Greek section of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and other institutions. The Museum also organizes similar events in collaboration with various teachers’ organizations.
