The folio from the 6th-century purple codex N (B×M 862), presents deteriorations (loss of purple colour and of golden and silver writing), sensitivity to light and to fluctuations of temperature, and so in 2005 a facsimile was commissioned by the Byzantine Museum’s Director Demetrios Êonstantios that was created by the Byzantine Museum’s painter Dimitris Nikolianos.
In order to preserve the rare original folio, the Museum is presenting the facsimile in its permanent exhibition of the Byzantine Collections.
