THE BYZANTINE AND CHRISTIAN MUSEUM HONORS PROFESSOR ELENI GLYKATZI-ARWHEILER

On Sunday, December 15, the Byzantine and Christian Museum will host a scholarly tribute in honor of Professor Eleni Glykatzi-Arveler, Professor of Byzantine History at Paris I, Panthéon – Sorbonne University.

The event will feature distinguished Byzantinists from Greece and abroad, who will speak about her work as a university educator. Among the invited speakers are Michel Kaplan and Jean-Claude Cheynet from the Sorbonne, Athanasios Markopoulos and Marina Loukaki from the Faculty of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, while Professor Ufuk Kocabas from Istanbul University will present his excavation of the Theodosian harbor, which has yielded the largest number of Byzantine shipwrecks discovered to date.
