Diary and “Lucky Charm” 2012 of the Byzantine and Christian Museum
The theme of 2012 Diary of the Byzantine & Christian Museum and of the Society of the Museum’s Friends entitled “Fantastical and Unearthly”, is dedicated to a lesser-known but rather interesting aspect of the Byzantine art: the depiction of imaginary beasts, largely inspired from the mythology of the East Mediterranean ancient civilizations, and also of demonic creatures emerging from Hell’s depths.
